TEHRAN -- Childhood memoirs, originally written by Tabrizi sculptor Ahad Hosseini on pieces of paper, will appear in a book published by the Art Bureau of East Azerbaijan.

Children from this country need to get to know their great masters of art and culture, and Ahad Hosseini is one of the national figures, said head of the bureau Hassan Najafi.
He noted that Hosseini is a symbol of patriotism and said, “The book, written by Roqiyeh Jamali and illustrated by Soheila Julaii, contains the first feelings of love and interest experienced by the artist towards the visual arts.”
Ahad Hosseini was born in 1944 in Tabriz, the capital of East Azerbaijan Province and developed an interest in the art of sculpture while he was going to school. He was also interested in psychology, philosophy, and history. He then left Iran and went to Italy to continue his studies and graduated from the Fine Arts Academy of Florence.
He then decided to return home and created astonishing works of sculpture in the basement of his house in Tabriz for five years. These masterpieces are now on display at the Azerbaijan Museum in Tabriz.
Teaching at the School of Decorative Arts of Paris (the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD), cooperating with a French TV channel and making masks for the same channel are among Hosseini’s credits.
